Most of teachers in ESMOD JAPON are practicing professionals with experience in ready-to-wear brands. They provide you with classes of fashion history, design, basic and advanced clothes making knowledge and techniques to help you define and express your own universe.

Eri Iwase graduated from Kyoto Saga Art College, ESMOD Paris and Studio Berçot. She worked for ISSEY MIYAKE and ZUCCa as an assistant designer at MIYAKE DESIGN STUDIO. She is now the president of Etudemains and a designer of popupdress.

Élodie Burette is a designer and freelance illustrator. She graduated from Studio Berçot, then worked for Balenciaga, Christian Dior, Yves Saint-Laurent, Tory Burch, Artizia and beautiful people as a designer.

Iwao Kawashima

After graduating from a fashion school, Iwao Kawashima worked as a patternmaker at Yohji Yamamoto Inc. Then, he went to Italy and pursued his career as a patternmaker at Massimo Monte Forte.

Shigeki Fujita is an ESMOD JAPON alumnus who worked at ABAHOUSE INTERNATIONAL and nanamica. He is currently working as a freelance designer.

Romain Urnel

After graduating from ESMOD Paris, Romain Urnel worked at Maison Jean-Charles de Castelbajac and Marithé+François Girbaud. Then, he launched his own brand in 2012. He also worked for Y/project menswear, and taught modelism at Atelier Chardon Savard. In 2012, he won the menswear grand prix in Dinard International Festival for Young Fashion Designers.

Akemi Aoyama is a freelance patternmaker. After graduating from a fashion school, she started her career as a pattern maker in Yohji Yamamoto.

Chieko Aoshika is a freelance patternmaker and an alumna of Japan Women’s University and Hosono Fashion School. After studying under Hisashi Hosono who is an haute couture designer. After working in several ready-to-wear companies as a chief patternmaker, she is engaged in Tokyo Collection as a freelance patternmaker.

Yoshiko Ogino is a freelance patternmaker. After working at COMME des GARÇONS as a patternmaker, she started her own business. She is now the president of her private atelier.

Kazuyo Kato is a patternmaker.
After majoring in stylism and modelism, she graduated from ESMOD Paris. She worked in the developing department of Sanyo Shokai, then became a modelism teacher of ESMOD Beijing. She is currently the representative of Atelier Kato.

Shermeen Ahmed is an alumna of National College of Arts, Josai University and ESMOD JAPON. She worked for a children’s program Wicked as a set designer and graphic designer and worked as a marketing manager in Moody International.

Sachiko Toki worked for COMME des GARÇONS and then TRENTA as a patternmaker. She is currently a freelance patternmaker in the wedding dress industry.

Yota Toki graduated from ESMOD JAPON and worked for HIGH BRIDGE INTERNATIONAL. Then he started his own business and became the representative of TOKIS DESIGN and Director of YOTA TOKI.

Shoko Uematsu is an alumna of Tama Art University. Based in Shanghai and Tokyo, she is involved in development from textiles to products.

After finishing his degree in the department of architecture and design in faculty of engineering at Nagoya Institute of Technology, Ken Muroi joined ESMOD JAPON. While working as a freelance movie creator, he was engaged in development of popupdress and currently continues his career in Etudemains Inc.

Yuichi Aono

Yuichi Aono is a shop director. After finishing his degree in law at Meiji University, he works as a director for young women’s casual apparel start-up and is also engaged in other new brand launches in wide range of industries such as cosmetics, food and beverage. He is currently the president of Prevision Project.

Tetsuji Nakaguchi

Tetsuji Nakaguchi is a marketing director and a professor of Edogawa University. He is also a senior executive officer of THE MEN’S FASHION UNITY. After finishing degree in engineering at University of Chiba, he worked for Kanebo Fashion Institute and ESMOD (Art de Vivre).

Hiromi Harada

After majoring in costume design and graduating from Toita Women’s College (Toita Fashion Institute), Hiromi Harada started to work as a fashion department assistant of a two-years college. She is now a teacher in another two-years college and a fashion school. She is mostly in charge of western fashion and western textile history.

Sadako Tei is an illustrator who presided L & T in 1999 and is now the representative of Crest Costume. CO., Ltd established in 2014.She creates designs and illustration works for trend information magazines and company promotions.
